Q1. Where is CSI?

A. CSI's main campus is located in Twin Falls, Idaho. The Physical Address is 315 Falls Avenue, Twin Falls, ID 83301.

Q2. How much does it cost to go to CSI?

A. In-district tuition is $100 per credit, and full-time tuition (12-18 credits) is $1,200 per semester.

Q3. What is out-of-district tuition? Do I have to pay this?

A. If a student's permanent residence is in Idaho, but outside of Jerome or Twin Falls counties, they are out-of-district. It is $50 per credit up to $500. By submitting a Certificate of Residency form, the student's county of legal residence may pay this expense.

Q4. What is the WUE?

A. It is the Western Undergraduate Exchange program, which offers a reduced tuition rate to students from specific states.

Q5. What opportunities are there at CSI to earn money?

A. The Work Study Program provides students with part-time jobs on campus. They are usually around 10 hours a week and will pay at least minimum wage. This program is granted to students through the FAFSA.

Q6. How do I apply for admission to CSI?

A. You can apply online through MyCSI.

Q7. Is there an admission deadline?

A. No, but you must apply before you can start the process of becoming a student.

Q8. What is the COMPASS Test?

A. It is required to be taken by all degree-seeking students before they can register for classes. It assists in placing students in the appropriate levels of Math, English and Reading.

Q9. Do I have to take the COMPASS Test if I have already taken the ACT or SAT?

A. Depending on your scores, you may be able to test out of the COMPASS test. For the range of qualifying scores, contact the Advising Center.

Q10. Where do I find scholarship information?

A. Information can be found at http://scholarships.csi.edu/ or you can visit the scholarship office on campus in the Matrix.

Q11. How do I apply for financial aid at CSI?

A. After January 1st, you can submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at http://www.csi.edu/financialAid/

Q12. How do I transfer credits from another accredited college or university?

A. A transcript must be sent from the accredited postsecondary institution where you attended. Once C.S.I. receives the transcript, it will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Q13. When do classes begin?

A. The fall and spring semester are 16 weeks long, and the summer semester is 8 weeks long.  The starting dates are posted each year in the instructional calendar, which can be found at http://www.csi.edu/currentStudents_/eagleInfo/academicCalendar.html

Q14. Where do I find the catalog?

A. It can either be purchased at the C.S.I. Bookstore or it can be accessed online.

Q15. Where do I find the class schedule?

A. It can be found at the Student Information Desk or can be accessed online.

Q16. How do I register for classes?

A. You can register in person at the Matrix in the Taylor Administration Building or online at MyCSI (http://mycsi.csi.edu) by logging into your account.

Q17. Where are the computer labs located at on campus? Are these available to all students?

A. There are two open labs on campus. The main lab is located in the library and is open to all students. The other lab is located in Eagle Hall and is open to all dorm residents.

Q18. What tutoring options are available?

A. In the Academic Development Center there is a learning assistance program. This program offers peer tutoring in the primary subjects of math, computer, science and English.

Q19. On average, how many hours will I need to study for each class?

A. For every hour you spend in the classroom, you should allow for two hours of studying.

Q20. What programs are available at CSI?

A. There are 55 academic programs and 67 technical programs. In these programs, there are 6 different degrees or certificates offered.

Q21. Do I have to purchase a parking permit to park on campus?

A. No, parking is free on campus and you do not need a permit to park.

Q22. Where and when do I go to get a Student ID card?

After you register for classes, you will receive an ID card. These cards are created in the Admissions and Records Office, which is located in the Matrix (Taylor Administration Building).

Q23. Where and when should I buy my books?

A. Course books can be purchased at the C.S.I. Bookstore, and for the best selection, they should be purchased 2-3 weeks before the start of classes.

Q24. What is MyCSI?

A. It is CSI's online portal where future students can apply for admission and search or browse our schedule of courses; students can register for classes, check the status of their financial aid, pay online, add and drop classes, check their grades, and print unofficial transcripts.

Q25. How do I sign up for a MyCSI account?

A. Visit http://mycsi.csi.edu and login by using your student I.D. and a PIN. If you do not know your pin, you can click on the retrieve pin button and follow the instructions.

Q26. How do I get a student e-mail account?

Each student who registers for a credit class can sign-up for an EagleMail account. To create the account, go to http://eaglemail.csi.edu.

Q27. What options are there for student housing?

A. On campus, we have one dormitory, Eagle Hall, which houses 118 men and 128 women. We also have Northview Apartments, which have 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms. These fill up fast, so make sure you get your applications in early! For a list of off campus housing, visit the Student Activities Office or go online to http://www.csi.edu/housing/.

Q28. As a freshman, am I required to live on campus?

A. No, but it is recommended. Since it is your "home away from home", it helps you adjust to college life and be easily involved.

Q29. What athletics do you offer?

A. For men, C.S.I. has baseball, basketball, and rodeo teams. For Women, C.S.I. has basketball, softball, rodeo, and volleyball teams. Other athletic teams offered include: dance, cheerleading, and equestrian.

Q30. How do I get involved at CSI?

A. It is easy to get involved at CSI, since there are over 60 clubs and organizations on campus, as well as, intramural sports and student leaderships groups.

Q31. What services are available for multicultural students?

A. The Multicultural Students Office offers assistance with advising/registration, financial aid, mentoring, and college preparatory classes. They also organize various cultural programs, and have four different clubs that are very active on campus.

Q32. What services are available for students with disabilities?

A. The Student Disabilities Services offers support services to students, provides technical assistance to all departments, and educates the community on disability issues.

Q35. What is the privacy policy for my information at CSI?

A. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) student’s educational records are protected, students have the right to inspect and review their educational records, and there are guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data.
